According to the Errantry Concordance (which I believe is updated by Diane Duane herself), the change in Nita's middle name was a typo.

In writing it can be so easy for little details like that to slip through the cracks. Heck, in one of the books I was writing, some poor guy's entire name got changed halfway through and I didn't even notice until I went back for revisions a few months later. :-(I just got out of the hospital. I was in a speed-reading accident. I hit a bookmark.

Maybe the manual has a sense of humor? Spot does...If in a dewdrop there is a world of struggle, what happens when our dewdrop falls?
