Turning the topic off long-gone posts to a book question: has anyone read the book After by Francine Prose? I did, in one day. It was rather disturbing, but really, really good.

That's Scary. I JUST finished that book. Scary...... But it was REALLY good. I think that there might be a sequel, I mean it kinda leaves you hanging.... I hope there's a sequel, even if it was a little depressing, it was REALLY good.

Well it's about a High School, Central, that's really close to another High School,Pleasant Valley, that had some kids shoot 5 kids and three teachers or something. So Central gets a shrink who takes over the school and makes up all these rules, like no wearing red, and they have all these metal detectors at the front of the school. The main characters (Tom, Silas, Avery, and Brian) think this sucks just like everyone else, and the rules get more and more strict everyday, the school sends emails to parents about the new rules, most parents read them, but some don't. Then Silas is sent to some Operation Turnaround and never comes back. And then Tom, Avery, and Brian find out that at Pleasant Valley it's even worse, there are only like 50 kids in the school left, they've all been sent to Operation Turnaround.

No I don't think so...except maybe the part about there only being 50 kids left in Pleasant Valley, that was near the end. But I'm glad you did it, I suck at summaries. (No, it's really, really bad. Just ask my English teacher )

That was a disturbing book...and I don't know what they would put in a sequel, I would like to know what happens next but somehow the ending just felt right...y'know?

Anyway, definitely read it...

I think that there needs to be a sequel.... If you want to start a private topic I'm fine with that but if Birdhead or anyone else is going to read it then I don't want to give away the ending.
