    • Here in Kansas we hve to take both ACTs and SATs to get any type of scholorship so I plan to take them both at lest once maybe more so I really have to study.

      • M: Always.
Scholarships...let's see...*thinks* The only ACT/SAT-related scholarship I can think of is the National Merit one, and that's really about the PSAT.
*nods* Yeah, they say if you take either test early enough and get less than a 33 for the ACTs or a 1500 for the SATs you should try again.

The important thing about adventures, thought Mr Bunnsy, was that they shouldn't be so long as to make you miss mealtimes.

        • On my tests like the SAT's (I'm not quite that old yet,) I usually get 99% one time I got one of the highest scores in the country. I do great on national tests, bad on school tests, the world is sooooo twisted.

              • The SAT's are annoying... my Verbal and Reasoning scores keep on switching places except for a few minor gained points each time... (Exp: I'm enrolled in a program that lets you take them in 6th grade and older. It's kinda weird.)

Although you know what's really snarky? There's this essay test that they have us take in California, and EVERY year prior to high school they think up some weird topic that stereotypical young people are supposed to be able to connect with, except no one actually does (for an example, my seventh grade one was "choose your favorite celebrity and tell us reasons why they should be invited to give a presentation to the school!")... and then during high school, they choose topics that are supposed to make us think about "important issues"... except that they're the kind of thing that most people have heard about so many times that they've sort of developed a "not care" attitude about it (mine was about prejudice... this senior I know said his was about why alcohol should be considered a drug)...

I am Lionfish. HEAR ME ROA-- ....um, bubble. Blub, blub. *sweatdrop*

                  • Hey Semiaris! I did the SATs at 7th grade! I didn't know that you could in 6th...

Sometimes in math class, our teacher gets caught on some nonmath topic, but normally it's something really good to hear.

We were talking about the state's standardized tests and this one kid brought up 'why shouldn't the day we take the state tests be half days?' That led to 'some kids do really bad things on halfdays.'
My math teacher had this one student about 4 years ago. One time after math league, she offered to drive him home (my math teacher is a great teacher!) and he said, "No, you'll get shot." When they got near his neighborhood (teacher did drive him home) there was this group of kids just hanging out on the street corner. The student said, "lock your doors and don't stop. Just slow down and let me out."

At this point, our entire math class was just about in shock. The kid was so afraid of getting shot or killed, he never left his house. It was awful. And he was a smart math league kid, too.

*is sooooooooooo confused* We have taken the SAT's since 2nd grade! We WILL take them up untill 10th grade! Then in 11th and 12th we take ACT's!!! Most colleges around here ((except Calhoon Community College)) won't accept you if you get like a 25 or lower in the ACT's!! We also have to take a writing assesment in 5th, 7th, and now 10th grades!!
God I hate the SAT's I always get between a 92% and 98% on it but it is sooo boring to take!! We have ours in April, but that week is so fun because our principal rocks! We have "relaxation" week, last year Mon. was backwards day ((Wear shirts and pants backwards)) Tues was comfy shoes day ((SLIPPERS!!!)) Wed was hat and sunglasses day ((self explainatory)) Thurs was beach day ((wear airbrushed beach shirts or anything to do with the beach)) and Fri was team day ((support your team.))
Sorry that was slightly ranty wasn't it??

                              • We have to take CTBS test(don't what it stands for so don't ask me) then we take the state assments then if your good enough you qualify for the presendendtal award which if you when you get like 5 of them you get an automatic scholorship then you qualify for diffrent scholorsips and get you name sent all over the contry then you aply to colloges the you aply to more scholorships then if your luckly you get maybe four scholorships then you have to get nothing below a C in colloge then the you get more scholorships then once you through college you have to pay off thoughs scholorships and relaize that your never going to get out of debt and relazie that you've wasted your life in school and you want to relax but you can't because you have a family to take care of and a job to mantian then before you know it your dead and your spirt relaizes that you've wasted your life.
