Midnight Snack and Other Fairy Tales

For those who aren't following DD anywhere else, first off, why are't you, and second off, this is entirely worth reading. Not a novel, as they're fairy tales, and not the YW universe, but you can definitely tell that its DD in the writing. In reading the first few stories there were points where the writing actively reminded me of Uptown Local as well as A Wind From The South.

Many decades ago when I was at a DD signing, she said that the first line of "Midnight Snack" had her best opening line ever. "Dad came down with the flu that week, so I had to go down to the subway and feed the unicorns. ... "

I wonder if she's changed her opinion on that since then.
