I've got the best of both of your worlds! I get two weeks break, AND I'm off when Sk--Gryphon's off from school. I can't wait to be on break, though. I'm getting soo tired of school. I wish we didn't have to stay another week. *headclutch* Ow, my poor head and evil headache! Y'Know, I ready they used to drill a hole into your head to relieve the pressure...

And Skitty isn't creul, she's fiendish.

Tui, it's spring! And it's almost summer! Which means I can celebrate while you slave mid school.
??? How is it "almost summer?" Spring...hasn't even begun here yet, technically.

Cherry blossoms are perrtyful, why must you kill them? And since I have no idea how to make the tree, who's going to? And can somebody make me a green mitten leaf? And when am I going to stop saying and? But I have it better than all you people, cause I get off for break in TWO DAYS! Yes, just two short days, then I'm off for a week and a day, then another month and I get to go to Utah and Washington DC. Isn't life good?

Not if you live in the Southern Hemisphere, we don't. I mean, we do, but not till... like, September.

heh. Spring break here (yes like Tui, mine is in September) is more like summer, because unless El Nino is playing with our weather systems, September first is usually as hot as high summer. So people end up swimming and such, which is really funny, becasue thats also actually the official end of the snow season down south ... Thats just to confuse people, and then Tui's weather is probably the same as the same latitude as our snowfields. I think I had better stop before I start rambling and go and get some sleep...

((shush -- you're shaving off my ebilness))

We have a marking period and a few weeks left of school. Feels like it's almost over.

It's weird listening to you talk about summer being cold. Of course, it's not summer there, but...

                    *shudders* It's backwards!

SO WRONG! That's really backwards. Where I live summer is really, really hot (unless we're having a freaky cold, rainy one like last year) and winter is really, really cold. Usually we get tons of snow, but this year we had NONE! Ok, not none, but really close to, which makes me mad because I can't go skiing. Boo hiss.

I know. I didn't realize before I came here that in some places, December is in the middle of the summer. Creepy. For me, December means snow, and cold, and ice, and cold, and diseases, and cold. And summer is good, and warm. Imagine what it would be like to have summer off, but it was all cold, like winter...

Ah, the Australian cliche Christmas dinner - barbecue on the beach .

Ok, so hardly anyone actually does the cliche, but...

Since Alla is far enough North in Australia to be just outside the tropics, she doesn't see snow in our summer, either. (Yes, it gets warmer as you go North .)

Creepy, again. I would SO not be able to survive that. Winter is just cold. That's the way the world works. Although, spring break started today and it's snowing. Uber not cool. It hasn't snowed all winter, and now it does during break. How evil is that?

Shuddup about the barbecue on the beach. We do do that ... ... mmm, sandy burgers XD. What beach did you have a barbecue on PM? Was there a beach at that lake in Canberra

Well, I guess then there's the traditional Australian Christmas tree too... generally a gum tree branch stuck in a bucket of sand

I didn't realize before I came here that in some places, December is in the middle of the summer. Creepy. Um, we do get summer off, we get two to three weeks (school. My uni gets four weeks) holidays in Winter. Just to confuse you even more, think about having a hot Christmas day , say around 38C and 'throwing another shrimp on the barbie' down at the beach - if you're lucky enough to get a barbecue at the public parks

                                You really do that? Gosh.
We stayed at home for Christmas. I don't remember if Lake Burley-Griffin had any beaches, but we didn't go there.

I never did get used to how short English Christmas holidays were again when we came back, not after the eight weeks or so of Christmas/summer holidays in those two years in Canberra.

And for everyone else, 38C is 100F, which Alla thinks is a normal temperature for Christmas Day. Obviously it's not that warm in Canberra, which is further South .
