  • Favorite coldcut?

My favorite out of those is ham. I really don't now how to explain why I like it the best.... My second favorite is turkey; turkey is a good cold cut.

I just don't like salami, bologna, pepperoni, and cheese.... Well, an exception for cheese is pizza, of course. Pepperoni is too strong for me... my nose ceases up whenever I can smell it... Bologna and salami just look horrible....

I don't like raw cheese, either... all types and forms of it....

What about everyone else? What do you like for cold cuts?

I love ham. We always have it for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also have Turkey as well. Cheese though would have to be my favorite. Turkey is dry (except the way my mom cooks it ) so I usually don't eat it. Unless it's the holidays of course.

I voted for turkey, but my favorite is actually ham+turkey.

The best way is to take the meat, put the cheese on top, put it in the microwave for a minute or so, and then put it on a hard roll with shredded lettuce underneath. (I can just hear Diane gasping in outrage... )

ok, i'm probably going to be stoned for this...But why the heck does a book forum now have a topic about COLDCUTS? i mean, i can accept a lot of things that don't have anything to do with the series on this forum, but still...COLD CUTS? *gasps in mock horror and and wonders what has become of our fair forum* :P
        I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Okay, I voted turkey because when I'm in the mood for a sandwich usually I'll eat turkey instead of ham, but I like both. Salami is awesome, but only when it's paired (grouped?) with ham and turkey and pepperoni. Mmmmm! And now I'm going to come back to my senses and agree with YR- where the heck did this topic come from?! *appreciates the randomness but wonders if it's going too far* Hmmm, I wonder how many people will actually vote...

If there is a problem with the thread, someone with the powers to do so is more than welcome to delete (yes, I mean DELETE) the thread. If you all would like that to happen, than by all means, complain and have it deleted.

it's not that we WANT it to happen...it just didn't seem like something that relates to ANYTHING at all. Plus, thinking about it more in the last few minutes, it doesn't seem like such a great use of DD's money...
Of course, the fact that one of the mods posted just before me might mean i'm wrong.

Hmm... I voted other. Why? Because I <3 Capicola like nothing. Of course, you could put that under ham, but it's not the same, it's just not the same.

                  XD

Unless, of course, you put roast beef up there. But then again, it would have to be in cheesesteak form. Of course, then, you would have to been in ...hmm, downtown, or south Philadelphia to get a real good cheesesteak. Of course, I am very rarely near close enough to get a good cheesesteak, very very rarely.

But then that wouldn't be a coldcut, so I'm not really sure why I just ranted up there. Unless to keep the poots away. But whatever, :P

Mmmm, Philly Cheesesteak. The closest I ever got to a real Philly Cheesesteak was when the east-coast math league competition was held in State College, PA two years running. I doubt the chain store I went to was particularly authentic, but still... :-)

I wish I could get you folks hooked on authentic Rhode Island New York System Weiners, but Tuttle's the only one I know of who's close to geographically appropriate.

I've never heard of Cheesesteak. Is it basically steak with cheese on it? I don't really like steak... I prefer chicken, or turkey, or, of course, HAM!

I like ham. That's neat! This is (actually!) an appropriate place to say that! I like ham! I LIKE HAM! I like ham.

                      OK, that's enough.

Well, A cheesesteak is...hard to explain.

First, take the roll. It can't be soft nonsense, no hamburger buns. No, it has to be a little chewy and all, to be perfectly delicious. Kind of like a sub roll, but better.
Then...it's like a steak sandwich. It has hot roast beef, I guess, with cheese in it. Then you can have onions on it (wit or witout) and then you add ketchup and salt to your liking. I think it goes best with a vanilla milkshake, personally, though a Pepsi or somesuch will do.

and that's a cheesesteak. But don't attempt to buy one outside of Philly. There will be disastrous results otherwise. And, if you're ever in Philly, sure, buy some soft pretzels and water ice. They were the best on school trips.

Ahh, Garrett, no, it's not. You've gotta be in the town to get the food. Anything outside is no good. New Jersey steaks? Nah. Pennsylvania steaks? Definitely not (though shoefly pie is worth it. I've only had it once, but it was amazing! )

So, if you're ever in Philly, stop downtown. Find the right store (hey, just ask someone for the best cheesesteak place, you'll usually get some pretty good answers, if not a heated argument, XD) and you'll have the best lunch you've ever eaten!

XD I am such a dork.

Myself, I like turkey. Mesquite smoked. Thin sliced. Cold or microwaved. Placed condimentless on one of these wonderful rolls from a Chinese bakery near my school. If not turkey, then ham. You ought to've put sausage, Eric. Or, for that matter, brisket. Even though they're not technically cold cuts.

Of course, you could eat sausage or brisket cold, after it's been cooked. Though it wouldn't be as appetizing. Brisket with barbeque sauce beats your cheesesteak anyday .

Don't you love the short sentences? I'm not in a conjugating mood.

The philly cheessteak compony (i think that's what it's called) makes good cheessteaks no matter where you are. :P and quiznos doesn't do that bad either for that matter...
and no blaming food cravings ont he topic! it's bad for buisness. :P
