Pet Peeves

I know that everyone has these. I just want to know what everyone's pet peeves are. Call it natural curiosity. I have many, almost at the top of the list is people using bad grammar. And people who can't spell. And just general stupidity....

Okay i gues one of my pet pevees is people who blindly jump on the bandwagon and suport bush without doing their homework.

Okay, and i cant belive im saying this but, Whenever people call me Michelle. Its a hit of my name(Michael) and i gets anoying It's a GIRLS name.

In general, just anyone who jumps on a bandwagon and supports something they know nothing about. ^_^ I suppose tha my adversity towards stupidity....Because anyone who supports something without knowing anything about it is stupid.

What REALLY ANNOYS ME is WHEN PEOPLE USE CHATSPEAK! I meant to do that with using all caps, by the way. It also annoys me when (in role playing online [mostly in the chatroom here]) people get all 'you can`t hit me, you can`t hurt me...' It REALLY PISSES ME OFF! Oh, and when people use 'u' and 'ppl'. It`s bloody annoying. DON`T DO IT!

You know what's just about annoying as chat speak in a serious roleplay setting? Seeing astrisks all over the place. I don't mind it for lower level ones, the kind that aren't story type. Or telling what you yourself are doing. But I really like it when people treat more serious role plays like a STORY! ^_^

Yes, chatspeak annoys me. It is not, like Peter Murray first thought, because it takes a long time to decode. No, it just screams plain stupid. Does anyone see the theme, here!? *laughs*

The asteriks are only good when you're doing out of character type things. *runs after you with mallet* sorts of stuff.

As for people telling you what you're doing (also called powerplaying), that's a definite pet-peeve of mine. Annoying beyond all possible reason.

look at it this way, in french, it's a guys name. In fact, that would actually be your french name. I know, it's weird, but it's better then being called a girls name. (i'm in french, that's how i know that.)
As for pet peeves...I don't really think i have one...weird.

I've got so many pet peeves. Here is a list without the junk of fillers.
1. People ask you can I talk to you, and just talk to you before you can answer them.
2. People who send you those petitions and when it says "copy and paste" they just forward it.
3. People who when you ask them a question they do not understand the question and answers a different.
4. People who cannot spell on role play message boards. Like I can don't mind it on this, but on message board it is like writing a story. how the heck are you suppose to read when there are so many typos!
5. People who mix slang and normal. I don't know if I do that (i don't proofread my work). Ex. "wat r you doing, u are bothering me" <--that there is totally gay.

Top five that I can think of right now. feel free to comment on it because we're all about peeves today!

People who use chatspeak on message boards. This has really started to bother me lately. Message boards are meant to be about communication, and how can you communicate successfully with someone when you leave half the letters (or more) out of a word. Also, bad spelling. I know that some people have a problem with spelling, but it takes an extra few seconds to copy-paste into a word processing program and use the spell check.

I think the French version of Michael is actually spelt 'Michel', but yeah, its pronounced like we would "Michelle".

In a serious roleplay setting, you probably shouldn't be using asterixes, as you should be writing what your character is doing in full prose, so rather than *runs after you with mallet* it should be, "Mario runs after the oversized Donkey Kong with a mallet" or something like that. (sorry, I've been playing old gameboy games...). That is, unless you're in a chat that, like Cedric, has no action function. And, in my experience, out of character stuff is generally writting inside double brackets, with an optional "OOC: ..." such as "((OOC: This sentence is out of character.))".

we have spell check well I don't know where it is but anyway my pet peeves are:
people calling me gay ( plus they the guys hump each other so they are weird)
thinking that Country music is retarted(really sorry if it's spelled wrong)
and people making me do all the work and taking the credit(because come test time they make F's and the teacher finally figure it out)

Anyway...pet peeves? I have a few...

1.Chat speak-I hate it in chat, and I hate it out of chat, and I know that I use it sometimes (but rarely) and I hate it.
2.People who laugh at me for being skinny who are overweight. I get this a lot, and it just makes me mad. At least I take care of my body, and don't pollute it with McDonald's and junk every day.
3.Bad spelling and grammar. Enough said.
4.(This is probably the biggest one, actually) People who act fake.

To clarify for the millionth or so time, in Australian Slang, 'Thongs' are shoes. Known, I believe, as "flipflops" to Americans.

I know I'm a bit on the chubby side (and I'm trying to fix this up Swimming is good, and I've been eating healthy stuff all summer, so now Maccas (McDonalds, if you're wondering) actually makes me feel sick when I eat it Its too fatty.

Pet peeves? Well, I've got one that I can use a quote for

thinking that Country music is retarted(really sorry if it's spelled wrong)

BUGGEST PET PEEVE!!!!!RIGHT BACK THERE!! The only reason that is my biggest pet peeve is cause too many people use 'retard' as a diss and, I've got a cousin that is retard ed. Plus, I did a dumb rant in chat one day when John Smith said something in chat that really ticked me off. Another reason for that is because the doctors thought I was going to have down syndrom but, I didn't. I am happy that I didn't cause then I wouldn't be on these boards!

Some of my IRL pet peeves other than the one that I just ranted about would be when people mistake me for a guy. I hate when people do that.

Another one is when people IRL call me 'Beefy's little sister'! I HAVE A NAME TOO YA KNOW!!!

Ok, here are my pet peves:

People who try to distract me when i'm reading by waving there hands in front of my face, just to see if it's possible, and when, after finishing all my work, I try to read in class and the teacher tells me "what are you doing. THis is school!" "I finished all my work!" "So?" If i finish all my work i should be able to read! It's not like they have anything else for me to do...

And my other pet peve is people who go on the eragon forums and never sign up! we once had ten guests, and not one of them signed up, they just wandered around the forums reading everything. It gets really annoying.
