  • Thank-you Nathan!
We are taught to write (nabla)XF when writing curl(F), because of the un-rigarous reminder of how to calculate curl. Never seen rot anywhere, though. (Maybe i te book I got off my Dad??? Not sure...).

        • *depressed sigh* I'm writing a research paper on the immediate and long-range problems in the nation's economy and world trade that led to the Depression, and have no idea where to start...so, what do I do? Do I go look it up? Do I search the web?
          No...I whinge about it here.
But if anyone has any interesting thoughts relating to the topic, Amber would be very grateful.

            • Afraid not. I'm no good with economics, and those I do have even a faint grasp of are New Zealand ones and, as of very recetnly, economics of tudor/stuart England in 1558. Becuase that's what we're doing in History at the moment. Sorry...

But I just volunteered to write three short articles for my mother's magazine, on the Stardust Mission, (Flying at comet, taking pictures, using aerogel to get a sample of tail) some Mars Laser Satellite thing, (Uses lasers so can transmit rmeo data with less interference... will alos send info from 3 satellites presently at/on Mars, which is a good thing because they use radio and there is a lot of interference meaning they can only be d/lded from for, like, eight minutes a day.) and.... one other, which I've forgotten. Oh no, wait, Mice in Space (sending mice, poor things, into an orbit which should imitate conditions of Mars gravity to find out how this affects bodies). Like Amber, I need thoughts (and yes, I will go look them up on Google and NASA, I promise. ) Anyway, if anyone wants to tell me how to start (like, three words, even) I'd be hugely grateful, because I'm supposed to be writing them now and, uh...
              I'm not.

                • Well, it's the termly magazine my mother mostly writes and edits and publishes. So it barely counts- I offered because she was stressed, and now I'm wishing I hadn't. Oh well. To work!

                  • Although I cannot remember exactly when Elizabthe I died, it wasn't 1558. Therefore, England cannot have been both Tudor AND Stuart at that time...

                    • *hits Wilf annoyedly* Okay, you're right, 1558 was when she came to power, the year Mary died. Tudor/Stuart is the period we're studying, okay? Elizabeth, James and Charles, okay? And I only just started it! Leave me alone!
Yes, I know. I knew I was fudging it then. But, as I said, our topic title is Tudor/Stuart England. So I just wrote that down, though yes, technically it ain't right.

Meh, articles went OK.... or not. Got one of them done, but Mum hated the other ones and re-wrote them. *guilt, guilt*

                        • 1603. Elizabeth I died in 1603. I have no freaking clue why, but it's the only non-obvious historical date I know. And Wilf, Tui was probably just thinking "UK" when she wrote "England."
