    • Heh. Skitty. What a wonderful username... The 'S' is the initial of my first name. The Kitty is because I like Kitties. Cats rule.
My sign in username is ValorGryphon... I meant to have that be what shows up, but it's not... Valor sounds cool, is cool, ect. Gryphons rule! Some people spell it 'griffin', but there is no set way. And everyone knows Gryphon the insane puffball. (My icon is Gryphon)

      • I think this is in my signature but I'm not entirely sure...Calliope is the Greek Muse of epic poetry and song. I love listening to/reading/writing poetry and songs, and it's the name I use almost everywhere.

Agent M: ops: *grins sheepishly* I thought it was marinebrown1. I must've switched the 'i' and the 'n'. Sometimes I read too fast. *shakes head* Sorry. ^_^

        • Isn't calliope a type of melon? You know, the smooth yellow sort, about 8" (20cm) across.... or I am getting somewhat mixed up? *Has visions of a melon typing away*...lol

          • Lol. I'm pretty sure there isn't a type of melon called calliope...are you thinking of cantaloupe?

                • Melon?! Uh, no. *grins at image* That would be funny, though. Yeah, it's probably cantaloupe you're thinking about there, Wilf.

                    • Skitty: Did you know there is a Mercedes Lackey story with your name as the title, and the main character's name? It's in Catfantastic, and there is a sequel, "A Tail of Two Skittys," in Catfantastic III.

                        • Ah yes, it was cantolope . That said, when I see "calliope", I now think of Callete, one of the gryphons (griffons) in Dianna Wynne Jones' Year of the Gryphon. (A good book - I'd reccomend it to anyoe who likes the YW books.)

                            • My username has nothing to do with my real name. I suppose at least a few people here have read Tamora Pierce's "The Immortals" series? Anyway, Onua and Wingstar are actually two different characters whose names I combined into one (first & last) name. Onua is the royal horse mistress of Tortall (the "good guys'" kingdom) and Wingstar is a (female) dragon.

And the Dragon's song, so wild and strong,
Fell from the sky like rain
Upon my soul; which, watered well,
Bloomed with a joy no words can tell
Where once was a dusty plain.
