  • Freakishly enough, neither of mine have red eye. Strange huh?

Sean-I always wear glasses. That was actually either late at night or just before I was about to go to sleep, because that's when I get bored and am easily entertained. Those are actually my PJs. It's kinda strange that I put that up, but it just looks like a normal tank top. Also strangely enough, the glasses I'm wearing in the first pic are NOT my normal glasses, but they looked a lot better with my dress. My normal ones are green and I love them. ;P

    • I've got glasses...*can't wait for contacts personally* sorry, not allowed to post picture! (not that it matters that much with the way it's circulating between friends in other states at the moment. *grins*) anyways...why is it that everyone who's here seems to have glasses? I know i have it because of books and genetics (had them longer then i've been online) but...
      I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

      • I have lenses for those same reasons, YR... I started needing glasses in 8th grade... Mom didn't want me to get contacts, but lenses are worth waiting for. just make sure you still have glasses once you get lenses... I lost mine and of course that's when my eyes started acting up... it was painful for a while and would have been easier if I had my glasses then. oh well.

          • Re: Glasses-- it's books and genetics for me too. I think at least books goes for all of us, probably enhanced by genetics. It comes of reading books under covers with a flashlight, probably

So, of the people on here--who thinks they have the strongest prescription? I think I have 2.50 in one eye and 3.00 in the other...in other words, about 20/300 vision. And anyone else living with the joy of an astigmatism?

EDIT: I've needed glasses since the 5th grade, by the by.

            • *coughs* _only_ 2.5/3.00?

I'm running 6.25/5.75, been this bad for a few years; hopefully it won't get too much worse.

Oh, and, astigmatism seems to be developing slowly too

I'm probably going to get lasik surgery sometime, but I actually like my look with glasses :P

              • Mmm, some people do look pretty nice with glasses. XD

I *need* glasses -- but whether I wear them or not is a different story. I went for the longest time without even visiting someone about eyes, and when my doctor finally told me (8th grade, I think), that I needed glasses, I was pretty upset. So, I only wear them if I need to see the board in school. *shrugs* But it's okay... it just means I won't be able to recognize faces from a distance -- and some of my friends know this because they run right up to me in the hallway. I love <3

                • I've had these glasses for a little over two years, and tomorrow I am probably going to get some new ones. I can't remember what my perscription was...not very bad, like 20/40 or something? Anyway, I like the way I look with glasses (not to mention the fact I've wanted them ever since I was young) so I am going to stick with them and not get contacts...

                  • I have glasses. I've had them since...5th grade. They just make me look nerdy XD And older, depending on the current glasses. My new ones are sort of trendy, for a change, and I really like them. They make me look somewhere between a librarian and a...something. Oh, they're sort of slightly emo looking. But..I <3 them. I also wear contacts a lot. I like me better without contacts, but..sometimes the poor eyes hurt, sos..

Firstly: I really hate these totally derogatory comments about oneself's image. It doesn't matter, really, everyone here knows that!

Two: Cress, mega pretty hair & dress!
tecna: that place is really pretty! (so are you!)
ehmmm.. oh yes, Rad: Nice glasses! They look like my old pair! That's a good thing, haha

Hmm.. that's it for now, jelly beans!

                    • Hmmm...I've had glasses since 3rd grade, and contacts since 6th. I'm a big fan of my contacts; I like having peripheral vision, and it's easier to do things like run, horseback ride, play basketball, and drive with my contacts in. I don't know...everyone in my family who needs glasses wears contacts; my grandma's had them for over 50 years! (She got them when they first started making them or something...it's pretty cool.) So, I'm a big fan of contacts. But this year, I started wearing my glasses more, since all-nighters tend to make my eyes dry, and dry eyes are not fun when you've got contacts in.

My perscription is...well, I don't know how this translates into 20/20 language, but my contacts are: -6.75 in the left eye, and -7.00 in the right. Beat you all on the bad eyes front. Not exactly something you want to be the best in, but whatever. My mom was recently discussing maybe getting that Lasik surgery when I'm 20 or so; but I don't want to get it anytime before I finish school. My uncle got it while in college, then proceeded to go to law school, which ruined his eyesight again because of all the reading. He wears glasses again, and thinks the surgery was a waste at that point in his life.

                      • it wasn't the covers for me...it was the constantly having my nose in a book, to the point where my eyes adapted to only seeing things close up...i used to only use them for the bored, but i've started using htem just to enjoy the details of things i can't see without them...And also when i can't find the case. *blushes since this is the case at the moment*

                        • Never had glasses in my life, which is weird because everyone else in my family had them at a young age. Heh, the doctor says I have better than 20/20 vision, which is even weirder. Hold on, I do have reading glasses, I use them otherwise I have tendancy to overuse my eyes and get a really bad headache. I may post a pic, but not now.

EDIT: Ok, yes now, I just found some, hope it works.

This is me being really bored with a camera phone.

                              • I used to wear glasses, until the end of seventh grade. Now I have contacts and 4.50/3.25 which has been getting worse over the years. I've had correctional eyewear since 3rd grade.

So..I had to find a pic that didn't show too much of my face. I blacked out the background so y'all didn't have to suffer through the horridness of my messy room. I'm dancing by myself.
