Somehow I feel a bit guilty at reading books which are intended for a much younger age group. But I really like them!

I was going to leave it at that, but I hate one line posts. So, I shall also point out that a (script-style) Z is used in maths to denote the set of all intergers (positive and negative), or the ring/field containing that set; a lower-case z is used for a complex-valued variable; and z is also used to denote the third axis in standard 3D space.
So, there is alot more to z than most people think.
