Im not much of a library person, but I love Barnes and Noble. does that count? I hope so. There's just something about sitting down somewhere quiet with a good book and no on disturbing you.

I love libraries, a quiet place with lots and lots of books. What's not to like? But seriously, there really is something magical about libraries and books, being able to escape into other worlds. Sigh, yes I love libraries

Ah, libraries are good. Sadly, the library closest to my home (within walking distance, in fact) has basically on comfortable chairs to sit and read in. So...if I want to go somewhere to sit and read, I actually prefer a bookstore, B&N or a similar local chain called Schuler's.

However, that aside, this local library is fantastic. Not only is it huge (also extending to a dozen other brances in and around the city) so they have a lot of books and they will send them from one branch to another if necessary, but also if none of the branches has a book I want, I can request that they order it and they will.

On a similar note, my sister is currently going to grad school for Library Science.

I havent been to a libary in soo long. When we were still in our house we rarly went, we had a mini libary in out school. but that still wasnt like going to the big one. When ever we went we were always on a time limit cause we always went after dark. So when ever we went it was just to go in and out. Im sure i checked out mainly every doggie book. And any other animal. (Any kid under the age of 10 is obessed with animals)..(just a note from what i see lol) Any way i never saw any other section but the kids section, And rarly did we go. when we did go i would check out 3 or 4 books. (all dogs). But now that we are on this freaking boat i dont see any libaries at all. When we were in the Bahamas i went to one and it was thisold yellow house about 20x30ft. it was ridicouly small and there were like no books. all old romance and werid bahamian catologs..it was horrid. But i have seen a few here in PR but havent gone in. I got 8 new books though! Do that was a real really good plus. I had to clear my bookself to make them fit...hehe. Anyway, the libaries are cool and iw ish i could go to one..

I wouldn't say Ron was all that good with words.

Maybe it is the other way round. Wizards become good with words, because of their exposure to all them spellbooks. Unless they are bad boys who don't do their homework.

In the YW universe, maybe the people who become wizards are already book-lovers because they already had wizardly tendencies which had already caused them to be good with books and words . . .

                Cause and effect

But this question is not as interesting as the chicken-and-the-egg debate.

(Wow, this post makes no sense. Note to self: do not post while sick)

Libraries are the best. in summer i'll go to the library every day and read.

yup... it was at the library that i discovered that DD had written more than sywtbaw i only knew of that one at the time. it had been on my bookshelf for a while. Since my copy has a missing page i searched for DD's name on the book search and it came up with a bunch of the other wizard books that i had never heard of.

without the library i would never be here

Libraries rule! You keep forgetting the time when you're there, just because there's so much to read
We don't have a big library here, which is a pity, but we can ask for the confirmation of one of the librarians so we can get books at the HUGE (in my opinion )library in the big city.
Libraries are magic, and every time you notice books you haven't read yet and you think: Wow, another new book, let's read it!!!

You know, it's rather odd. I never thought of myself as a "library person". I mean I never wanted to be a librarian or anything lke that when I was younger, but only recently I just realized something. At almost every single library I go to, the librarians know my name and hold conversations with me.

I can never remember their naems though, but that has to do with having a larger affinity with books than people. There is one librarian at the one I go to that always talks to me when I check out like we've been best friends foever "Hi!,How are you? How's your schooling? I haven't seen you for months" (I was alternating betwenn working and being on sick leave, leaving little library time) " I was missing you ." etc. It's really weird, kind of flattering, and makes me feel a bit bad. I've been going to the same library for almost 20 years and I can not, for the life of me, remember ever hearing her name.

It was actually in the library where I first found the series too. It was in one of those collection volumes called..emm... "Support your Local Wizard" Well actually, it was before that, in Dragons and Dreams, a book that I still check out at least 6 times a year, and re read. (It's got Dragons. It's got Dreams. What could be better?)In any case, it wasn't so much the title of the cover, the picture (or even the idea that there was fantasy fiction in a high school library), but the complete...how to say it... Feel that said "Read this one." It happens a lot with books, which is why I don't work in a bookstore, too many books say that and my paycheck isn't enough to afford them all.

The library s also the place that keeps me up-to-date on when the new ones come out. I was glancing through there 'bout a year ago and saw a copy of "A Wizard Alone." I (almost) said out loud "There's another book? Why didn't anyone bother to tell me?!"

I think I've lost my point. It's probably right next to my mind.
"I happen to know that every word in your book was published years ago! Perhaps you've read... the dictionary!! "

"What color is the sky in that little world of yours?"
                        "Seafoam green, why?"

I don't like the library, all the books there are all moldey and at least 50,000 years old. I don't even like the thought of going to my school library just with all thoes cool, sweet, dumb, sleapy books that I can't ceap...argg!
                          ...

But I do live Barnes and Noble and Borders book store! All of the new printed book smell (of ink)
and the new manga books and the flip flop sounds of a book ... FLIP FLOPPING in a *thank you for shopping at Borders baggie!* I always love to see a young girl ... or boy buying a YW book I makes me feel like..."YES another person I can eat on the chat boards!" ... no It makes me feel good that a new wizard is here to ... hate the lone one!

And the other thing I love is the little book mark stand at the front desk! I love to look at the book marks hoping to see a YW book mark ... but I never see one...

                          ...

Slash dont you think the older books, the ones that are well binded with heavey covers have a spirtit of their own? They have character. even if they are 50,000 years old
Got to say though that new ink smell and walking into a book shop is just as good if not better than a library. Think i might have to go today now

Nita1Callahan I've been looking for years maybe the trick is not to look for it and wait for it to find you hahaha maybe, by the way some of the other users might warn you to srink the Avadar because its HUGE just a little pre-warning.
Hey posted my message and your Avadar changed dont take any notice of my warning hahahah weird.

I absolutely love libraries. Seriously, my greatest ambition is to gain access to one of the largest libraries in the world and just...burrow. You know, like a rat, except instead of eating the books, I'd read them. Libraries are magic in and of themselves. Bookstores are alright, especially for the very new stuff the library hasn't had time to get in yet.

I spent so much time in my high school library that Jill, our lovely librarian, comvinced me to be a Library Assistant for at least a semester. I'm now in ym second semester as a L.A. and plan to be one again next year. In fact, one of prospective careers now is to be a librarian. I probably love books and libraries a bit too much, but that's okay.
