The perytons: why do they first show up?

i still dont get it, sumone please explain why they came, bc why would the lone one want nita and kit in his world, kuz he didnt know about the whole staeling oof the book and stuff, so there must be another reason or person who sent the perytons, or maybe im wrong...

The weirdo's opinion: The Lone Power sensed that Nita and Kit would either be very powerful, or sensed that they were cooking up some scheme to get him, so he sent perytons(haha--PERRY-tons) to stop them, preferably by killing them. I think. Please don't die although i doubt that was what you wanted to know.
