Oh boy. This is exciting. Reminds me a bit of The Hunger Games, with a pinch of Girl Genius, a dash of Star Wars-esque mentoring issues, and a handful of the character shipping I love so very much. Should be super exciting and well executed, knowing Ms. Duane. Can't wait!

      Ohmigod!!

Seriously, Sharky said that he was excited after the first half of the first sentence and I now understand why! This is me right now: I wish that the WHOLE THING could be on the back of the book... But, I'm sure that you will find a way to make it work out so that non-readers will be dying to read it too! At first I was starting to think it was going to sort of be like the Tri-Wizard tourny, only about 20 times better because these are some REAL wizards, but then as I got farther down I started basically headbanging while screaming, "OHMIGODYAYYYYYYY!!!!!" Seriously, I don't think I'm going to want to wait... How much longer, Diane??? And, if you are putting THIS out, you can't pull another AWoM and make us wait 5 years! That would break my heart!

Please, Thank you, and I love you all!

That was a real treat! Love the idea, Kit and Nita looking after some punk kid to mentor him for this. Wonder where Dairine is off to. Something to do with Roshuan or the Lone Power I reckon, but ah who knows. Well, besides the author... .

          Yayyyyyy!

Neat idea that's quite different from past books :-) Not much in the blurb about the new romance between Nita and Kit, though... makes me wonder. I'm also dying to know what happens with Dairine's search for Roshuan, and it sounds like this will come to a head... unless that's a cliffhanger for the next book (noooo! heh) :-D

Thanks for the exciting news Diane! I don't suppose you've any idea when cover art will be out?

I am so very excited for this. I cannot wait to see how our fav. wizards react and the dialog which is sure to be memorable.

I am kinda hoping for some awesome Kit and Nita awkwardness.

Okay, you just completely threw me a curve I heard the title and was thinking, "Oh, so Kit and Nita get to enter this crazy awesoem tournament thing, which the LP interferes, they kick its butt, win, and in the end Dairine finally finds Roshaun and Nita and Kit awkwardly continue their... relationship."

Whoa. I did not see that coming. Mentors?! Good luck, guys.

This sounds fantastic, Ms. Diane, and you better believe that I'll be eagerly whittling down the days until i can read this.
You see something, and you say "Why?"
But I dream things that never were, and I say "Why not?"

"a vital clue that could solve the riddle of his disappearance and bring him home. "
PLEASE bring Roshaun home ;_; This both excites me and makes me very nervous that we won't be seeing him for a whole other book D:

I wonder what Roshaun has been doing while away. Perhaps it's more than just him being passively lost or held somewhere. Maybe he's actively doing something as well...

ROSHAUN. Isn't dead!! YAY. My friends in middle school would make fun of me because my mantra was Roshaun's not dead for quite a while after I finished Wizards At War.

Also, the only person (other than my sister) who I know that reads the YW series used to hate Roshaun. Then, by the end of TWH, she gradually started to be OK with him, but she was still mostly "meh". Then she read WaW. Her reaction (and I'm paraphrasing) was: "I hated him. Then I was okay with him. Then I started to really, really like him, AND THEN (like five seconds later) HE DIED."

                      But he's not dead.

As for the rest of the book . . . well, I'm really, really, really looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to it even more than I looked forward to AWoM, and that's saying something! I think it's because AWoM ended on a cliffhanger of sorts (at least character-wise), with Dairine being rebellious and depressed and spending time on Wellakh but with no closure of any kind on the Roshaun issue, and also Nita and Kit and (you know what I mean ^_^) and I want to see where this is going argh.

Also, Harry Callahan and Nelaid REALLY REALLY NEED TO have that dad-to-dad talk. I'm dying to see that.

Man, I'm so excited that ANOTHER book is coming out! I was so depressed to think that W@W was going to be the last book. . . . Then AWOM came out and blew my mind and now another AWESOME sounding book!? I might pass out.

But I really want Roshaun to come back in this book! I agree with Frivs that I don't know if I could handle the pompus-guy-with-a-good-heart-after-all being going another book. Not to mention I really want to see the dynamics of Dair's and Ro's relationship (romatic or not). Not to mention I'm wonding what is going on in the household now that Dairine is pretty much a ghost.

But I'm nervous abotu Carmela! I really like her for a non-wizard-maybe? Most likely? I think? Wateva. I really want her to keep showing everyone up on their opionons on what a non-wizard can contribute. And Ronan? I don't know what I would like to happen, but I know DD is going to make me like it.

And Nita's forsight? That is an exciting element. The prophocies in W@W were making me anxious enough! I was always a sucker for prophocies in books that almost go the complete opposite way it sounds like it should ((GO TERRY GOODKIND! lol, second fav author)). It really makes you question the books twist and turns a good three of four times more.

Lastly? What could be best of all? Nita and Kit kicking down some big headed people! That always make me happy. I bet they'll just about own, be "whatever" about it and gain a deep respect for everyone. I likes it a lot when they do that.
Give a man a fish, and he'll stink up the entire village. Give him a fishing pole, and he'll poke your eye out.... See where I'm going?

Diane Duane got me hooked and I need another hit man... *clammy hands start shaking*

Why did you think W@W might be the last book? *curious* I would think that honour goes to both High Wizardry and AWAb, each of which at the time seemed like the last YW book we'd ever see :-( I'm so glad that didn't turn out to be the case! Yay for DD's wonderful writing. Now if I can only convince her to satisfy my addiction on a more regular basis...

EDIT: Oh, and Carmela is awesome :-)
