This has been bothering me ever since I read A Wizard Abroad: is a St. Clements a real drink? How does one make it?

I think it's a real drink but I don't know how to make it.

But take my gift of equal worth:
I take Death with me, out of time,
and make of it a path, a birth!"

they tear your ancient hate for aye--
so rage, proud Power! Fail again,

From an old nursery rhyme:
"Oranges and lemons/Say the bells of St. Clemens."
Supposedly each church's bells have a distinctive chime, and sound as if they are saying something. Kind of like a rooster saying "****-a-doodle-doo!""Thus is Balance maintained." A Wizard of Earthsea

Oh, bother! The Mad Expurgiator strikes again! I'm not going to change my example because it can't tell the difference between legitimate use and a naughty bit."Thus is Balance maintained." A Wizard of Earthsea

For those who are interested in such, it continues:
"You owe me five farthings, say the bells of St Martins.
When will you pay me? Say the bells of Old Bailey.
When I grow rich, say the Bells of Shoreditch.
When will that be? Say the bells of Stepney.
I do not know, says the Great Bell of Bow.
Here comes a candle to light you to bed
Here comes a chopper to chop of your head."
And I believe it's also the path that you would hear the bells on the way from the Tower of London to be executed, and is in particular referring to Anne Boleyn (hence the last two lines)- but you'd have to check that with someone who knew a bit more about it.

Actually, sounds tasty. The trouble is finding a decent lemon drink here in the US, and no, I'm not talking about lemonade (normally non-carbonated here). All our citrus fizzy things are too sweet and/or not lemony enough. The best fizzy lemon drink I ever had was in Australia; I wish we'd import some!"Thus is Balance maintained." A Wizard of Earthsea

Nah, you don't want anything from Australia. They're strange over there.
