Er, if you look at the top of the page where there are all the links to DD's blog and to the excerpts and all that, one of them is the "chat area." That's the chat area.

The Shoutbox is for informal "quick" greetings and brief chats, and invitations to go over to the chat area. The chat area is for longer chats and formal "scheduled" chats with DD.
