  • Young Wizards in Russian

http://www.lib.ru - Russia's biggest and best-known free virtual library. The translation is exactly the same as in the Armada-published books. Here are the links:
    SYWTBAW: http://www.lib.ru/INOFANT/DUEJN/wizards1.txt
    Deep Wizardry: http://www.lib.ru/INOFANT/DUEJN/wizards2.txt
    High Wizardry: http://www.lib.ru/INOFANT/DUEJN/wizards3.txt
A Wizard Abroad (called "Infinite Wizardry" in Russian translation): http://www.lib.ru/INOFANT/DUEJN/wizards4.txt

    I hope it's a useful contribution

      That definitely wasn't a one-liner was it? ))
Actually, I don't have YW books in Russian, I just read them in Russian when I was at school, but you can still buy first editions from the Net. When you read them in English the perception is so different - all charas seem a lot older, particularly Nita and Dairine.

So what might wizardry look like in Russia? You have a great tradition of folk legends to draw on, but I have no idea what the Manual might look like, or how a Russian wizard might work/live. I imagine that there's a number of them quietly working to decontaminate Chernobyl... and preserve Lake Baikal...

I dunno really... I haven't lived there for a while, but my family are still there. I guess lots of Russian wizards are quite young, Ordeal-stage, judging by the fact of so many young people going missing. I come from a fairly industrial city with a lot of factories contaminating lakes and rivers so people could definitely do with some wizardry there. I can't imagine any Russian person being a Senior tho
