  • Nita and Dairine

I love how Nita and Dairine got closer starting in A Wizard Alone. What is most interesting is that they have their first hug (that we are privy to) in that book. It was almost like after that, their relationship changed, and changed for the better. It was, after all, just that morning that Nita had to kick Dairine out of bed.

After that, their next hug, as I recall, was in WH when Dairine gave Nita a goodbye hug amd twice in W@W, the first when they were going their separate ways from the moon and when they reunited after their fight in the cavern.

While wizardry did bring them together, the loss of their mother made them close and I love that about them.

The first hug I remember was in The Wizard's Dilemma, when Nita asks Dairine for a hug, Dairine accuses her of trying to take on their mom's comforting role, and Nita tells her furiously that it's Nita who needs a hug. It's true, though, they seem to have had to realize that they needed each other.
