9/11 in the YW series?

I've been wondering whether future novels will contain explicit mention of 9/11. Or does the series take place in a parallel present where 9/11 did not occur?

I noticed the allusion to 9/11 in ELF KING'S ROSES, by the way.

RE: ELF KING'S ROSES: The characters, while world-hopping, make a stop in what's recognizably our universe (they feel the pervasiveness of evil much stronger here than in their own universe). One of them asks why the World Trade Center isn't visible in its normal place. The other (who obviously knows what happened) quickly steers a path in the opposite direction with a comment along the line of "maybe it was never built here."

I'm still wondering whether the attack occurred in Kit and Nita's New York.

Nope. It was published November 2002.

9/11 will probably be there, if she has a reason to write about it. i don't think diane would start talking about the world trade center like it's still there.

That sounds probable. It's a touchy subject and I know some people would not particularly appreciate mentions of it in literature that looks innocent enough...
