That idea has possibilities, but why not carry that thinking a step further and a step easier. If you have ever seen x men, use a boarding school likefacility and train the mind that way, thus it isn't as expensive. I'd love to experiment with this one

Do you mean magic or magick

Well... it depends on your defenition of "magic." For the most part, no, I don't. For it (or anything) to work, something has to make it work, and it has to abide with the most simple and eternal rules of... existence: gravity, the matter-energy persistence (or whatever it's called) rule, the speed of light etc. The... well, I guess the traditional sense of magic is that by whatever means (spoken words or thoughts or whatnot) some reaction happens that seems to have little or no connection with what was done. This result is also often not even possible by the laws of physics. The only true way I can see that this is acceptable is to believe in *a* god(s), because without it/them magic is logically and physically impossible, so therefore the existence and us of it would be abstract, that is, random, and random does not exist. There is no such thing as random.

As for god{s}... to have a god that allows/created magic is a tough thing to have realistically, and by that I mean within the labyrinths and paradoxes of philosophy and logic. But, by the same note, I believe (not to start erratic arguments) that there is no such thing as an atheist, if only because the thought is so horrific that the human mind would never want to accept it.

But than, I don't believe in evolution, either. What do I know?

I have been Roland, Beowulf, Achilles, Gilgamesh. I have been called a hundred names and will be called a
thousand more before the world goes dim and cold. I am hero.

I took for granted that it was Magick. Oh, well...

                Yep, and probably always will.

In peace, there's nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness, and humility; but when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger, stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood...now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, hold hard the breath, and bend up every spirit to its full height!

I've *always* believed in magic (well, for all the time that I can remember, at least!) and I always will. That's probably why I read so many fantasy books I never flew *pouts* but I've had other things (think just thinking something odd that you've never seen and then having it happen in front of you) and I swear that when I was 12 and was talking to plants that I had just planted, they told me that their names were Millie, Jenny, and Paco. Nobody seems to believe me, despite the fact that I hadn't ever even heard the name Paco before.

*You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!

*It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.
*I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
*I'm not mean. I just don't like you.
*I have my own problems. I don't want to hear yours.
*Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
*You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same.

*updated 11/1/03* Oh, sorry about the avatar. I took it off and will try to resize it, but it's huge in the post. I didn't realize it was that big at first. Sorry again!

I believe that things that can't be explained qualify as magic. So untill we find the mystery behind the universe then there will always be magic out there!

I do. I think that magic is a lot of things like corage and strength. I think that the biggest magical powers are life and death.

I basically believe anything mythological and religiony, because there's really no proof to the contrary. Except Christianity, I simply can't bring myself to go along with a frame of mind that says "Let's light these people on fire because they have different beliefs."

GodMageMajere- Thats not what Christianity's about. Lighting people on fire is not part of the religon. The Church did horrible things to non-christians, but that was in the past. Presently, Christians don't set people on fire! The LEADERS of the church made mistakes but that doesn't mean the concept of Christianity is wrong. I understand why you feel that way, but Christianity was never about killing people because they have different religons. The LEADERS of the Church interpreted the Bible to mean that, obviously this interpretation is wrong, but the faith itself isn't.

I agree. While I have multiple problems with the Christian church, that was pretty inflammatory, GMM... you'll get more attention if you explain your problems with Christianity sensibly. *makes face* take it from me, it's true; otherwise peopel turn off. Plus, if you reason, people go away and think about what you've said... it takes root a lot more.

As for my beliefs: I'm a bright. I have a baturalistic worldview, ie one that's free of superstition and religion. *nakes a face* I'm fighting for magic, here, but it just doesn't work for me, despite what I said earlier... more correctly, I guess, I truly want to believe in magic. If not the traditional, though, I certainly believe in a basic magic that is individuality.
