Here's another thing to check out. The Winter 2003 issue of the magazine Teen Voices has an interview with Amelia A****er-Rhodes, who has published two fantasy books while still a teenager. According to our library catalog, her books were published by Delacorte Press in New York.

I haven't published a book, but I'm published. Not big leagues or anything but I do publish. The most vital things I can suggest are
LULU'S TWELVE RECCOMENDATIONS FOR WRITING
1.enjoy writing for yourself,
2.write everyday,
3.do not critique as you write(it hinders your creativity),
4. Practice at your school publications, they often provide a custom copyright to you, the author
5. Get a writing mentor(mine rocks)
6.Read a great variety of genres that you are ok with
7.Edit other's writings, it makes your own better
8. learn to love your thesaurus
9.Show don't tell
10. Scene,Sequel format si good as in:
Scene (Action)
1)Goal
2 )Conflict/Obstacle for hero(es)
3) Disaster(This lasts until your final battle when they defeat the villain/obstacle)
Sequel(reaction)
1)Response
2)Dilemma
3)Decision
