    I've sort of come to a halt on mine. I should at least be able to cross the 30,000 threshold, but no way am I gonna be able to write the last 20,000 in...3 days? Uyy.

    Anyway, here's mine. --> http://www.nanowrimo.org/es/user/54182

    30,000. That's better than in previous years. And you know, I think I really could have won this year, only I have work and school and so many projects. I just finished writing a 40 page annotated bibliography on Orcs for my Reference class. It's not even done, not really, but it will do for handing in to my professor, and I plan to continue it beyond this semester, maybe turn it into a dissertation.

    My next project is the final assignment for my publishing class, which is another "So You Want to Be a Wizard" paper. Does anyone know who DD's current editor is? I don't think Jane Yolen OR Michael Stearns are at Harcourt anymore.

    i have an advantage, though it hsan't helped much recently. STill, it'll allow me to catch up with luck. The advantage being that i have a dana wireless from alpha smart, allowing me to write wherever i go and then hook that writing up into a computer and send it in for the word varification.

    Ugh nano. I have laid mine to rest at 2200 words. Holidays and family crisis are not the best time to write. And i just so wanted to off my main charicter and be done with the sniviling brat. Maybe he falls down a flight of stairs. A banna peel, or a piano would be things for him to avoid in teh near future. Malicious cackle.

    Scriptfrenzy is much like nano but instead you write a script. It can be a playwright or a screenplay. The goal is to reach 20,000 words in the month of June. It's completely hectic because that's, for some people, around finals and stuff. I didn't do it last year, but I'm sure going to do it this year....

    With my story in nano, I've lost. I only got around 10,000 words and I've already finished! This was only my first year, so hopefully next year will be soooo much better!! I'm Fairyworld1217 there by the way.

    I'm doing Nano, too, but I'm only at 12,000 words because I'm hand-writing it. Last year I won, but I was on vacation for two weeks this month, so at least I kind of have an excuse for not writing very much... Nano is a lot of fun even if you don't win it.

    I'm dragon_writer there. I'm only at twenty thousand words *Cries* I lost ten thousand a while back, got SOME of them back again, but it really kind of threw me...and now that i allow myself a little editing...*Shrugs* i'll use the break to my advantage though.

    PM and NaNo... PM was one of the ones who egged me into doing NaNo two years ago... I hope I can manage to finish this year, because I'm going to dedicate whatever I write to him this year.

    (I know this is a bit of a delayed response, but) One of the things that you can do is not only try and write 50000 words, but try and write well, too. In the past NaNoers from here have exchanged stories afterwards. Thats always fun

    I agree with tuttle about not having to keep up to date, as NaNo always sits around the same time as my exams - and I need good marks this year. I tend to write as much as I can, when I can. If you can knock 5000 words out in a day, it means that you can have a break the next few

    As for what I'm going to write this year... Probably stick with the usual narrative, as I'm not that well versed in many other forms of writing. I'm thinking of, uh, bending the rules a little and writing something with characters that I've already played with and a story that I've already written. It basically needs a complete re-write. I have one other idea floating around though, If I decide not to do that.

    My outline change every single day. So I don't exactly know what I'm going to write. It's going to be interesting because I just remembered that basketball season starts in November!! I hope whatever I come up with will at least bring me close enough to the insanely amount of 50,000 words. But now, I'm just outlining random stuff that comes in my head.

    I'm Nano-ing this year, despite - because of? - the fact that it is a desperately stupid move at this point in the semester. But you can't be all library science all the time.

    I didn't Nano last year, but I did in 2005 and 2004 - neither time did I finish, BTW, and I'm not going to break my back over it this year either. Just gonna crack out some material and hope some of it is actually readable.

    What are y'all planning to write? I'm not doing a novel per se - not in the sense of a 50,000 word extended narrative. My plan is to write a series of one-shots based on word prompts - you know, "Write something with the word 'silver' in it," or "sweet" or "scar" or what-have-you. Sounds random, but they're all going to be interrelated in the sense that they'll be about the same batch of characters. That way if I get bored with one story I can finish it off fast or put it on hold and jump to another without feeling guilty....

    Yeah this will be my second year. I dont even want to think back to my first year. 5,000 words in. And then the battery fell out of my laptop and it all when down the drain. I lost the motivation to keep working after that. I speak from experience when i save often.

    Yeah queen tut, i know what you mean PM turned me on to NaNo to.
