Well it's big news here in the USA. Lots of freaking out.
Any thoughts on the death of Osama Bin Laden?
It kind of brings a closure to the situation that I had ceased to hope for or to expect.
The 9/11 event had a rather earth shattering effect on my family life. My father was called away on duty at the time and became so caught up in the events and the aftermath... even years later, that I almost never saw him. The toll was so heavy it eventually ruined my parents marriage and split up the family. So while not directly impacted by the loss of the Twin Towers, the long term effects of the resulting war were felt in a very personal way...
I had become rather numb to the whole affair... yet here we are once again. Finally wrapping things up in a manner of speaking... to one degree or another. Resolving the original problem... superficially at least. Though a whole shopping isle's worth of Cans of Worms were opened along the way.
