  • ARGH!

Stupid history project has had me busy all weekend.... Although.... It might have helped if I didn't procrastinate so much. Well anyways that's beside the point! The point is I think we all have better things to do than history projects. Although, maybe my opinion would be different if my Social Studies teacher wasn't pure EVIL!!!! Opinions? Anybody?

Yes! yesyesyes! *ppc hates history with a passion* *ppc is still bitter over the fact that her sister got to go to a concert while ppc was grounded and forced to write a paper that took her two hours*
Er, but anyway...yes, history projects are a waste of time. Muchly so.

The important thing about adventures, thought Mr Bunnsy, was that they shouldn't be so long as to make you miss mealtimes.

Yes. History projects are a waste of time. Although we should learn it so we don't repeat it. But come ON! I mean once we read about it ti should be done with. I swear we are destinned to learn the same things in Social Studies all through Junior High and High School. Sure, it might change a little but I mean last year I learned the history of my state, this year it's the history of Americe, and next year I ahve to learn the history of my state again!

At my odl seceondry school, in year 9 (age 13/14) we did World War One. For GCSE (14-16), people were taught UK 1900-1945... whic iuncludes WW1. For A-level, people were taught Europe 1870-1914, which includes WW1. Hence why I gaveup history after year 9...

Uhm, I love history myself... why am I in the minority???

We did Origins of WWII (along with five other topics: NZ Search for Security, Race Relations NZ Race Relations SA, and two others which I've forgotten...) in year 11, WWI along with 2 other topics, none of which I did, in year 12, and this year we're doign (as I've mentioned) tudor the Stuart England. Funfun! Because Elizabeth is so very cool.

Auroroa: Really? Your teacher failed an exam for being too creatve? That's not right.
Everbody: Well anyway, my project is done and I ahve to turn it in tomorrow. Now the problem is what I'm going to say for the presentation!

WHAT??? How do you fail an exam by being "too creative?" TOO creative? Is there such a thing? I mean, unless she wrote about the symbolic significance of pineapples and mayonaise in relation The Lord of the Flies or something...

I am Lionfish. HEAR ME ROA-- ....um, bubble. Blub, blub. *sweatdrop*

Of course, if one could convince an audience that pineapples and mayonaisse were really symoblically significant to The Lord of the Flies, that oughtn't be a problem either.

Well, sure it's possible. because there's creative meaning "a use of the facts or an interpretation of the set task that is unusual, unique and thoughtful," or there's creative as in "making stuff up because you don't know what you're talking about."

in terms of Lord of the Flies, a creative dramatic monologue of the first sort would be one which, although from Ralph's point of view, cleverly incorporated some of the things Jack says, thereby highlihgting their similarities. A creative dramatic monologue of the second would be one that talks about how much Ralph hates Piggy because he's smarter than him. pineapples and mayonnaise work, too.

well, the thing is, we know the teacher isn't all too open-minded to begin with- my friend is the type of person a lot of you would shy away from. Dark makeup, dark baggy clothes, nose ring, spikes, etc. The teacher doesn't like her to begin with, and I mean... I was trying to voice a idea about a certain poem (I considered it QUITE valid- the author said "I thought God coulf really see," and I took the use of the word 'thought' to indicate she no longer had religious feelings), and I got shot down...

Don't try to say my friend didn't know the material though, because she knew it better than I did. I just gave the teacher what she wanted to see for the sake of saving time. Sure, I proved I knew it all, and everything, but I didn't bother with very creative openings or closings or anything- I essentially formatted it as if I was just filling in blanks. I got an A on my exam....

Interseting.... I hope my S.S teacher's not liking me or my friends will affect my presentation grade when I actually have to present my project in front of the class... Maybe she'll ahve a nice day... Who knows? Although.... she has been deemed more evil than the once thought evilest english teacher... Crud monkies.
