  • The "Thanks" in Thanksgiving - Express yours here!

Well, I figured that I'd start a topic about thankfulness.

I realize that this is a bit late, but being thankful isn't just for Thanksgiving; we should be thankful all the time. And any time you think of something else you're thankful for, just post it here any time. Also, new members can post their thanks for whatever they want to in here as well.

Some of the "I'm thankful for______"s that came up in my Thanksgiving are:

    My family
The fact that we're all here to celebrate together with our family
The fact that we HAVE family to celebrate with
The fact that where we live is clean, unpolluted, and pleasant to live in.
    We're healthy.
That we have all this food to feast on, and that we have food all the time.
That where we live is generally catastrophe-free.

Those are the major ones that came up at my house. (I have decided to start a tradition of, at dinner, going around the table and having everyone state what they're most thankful for, and, again, those are some that came up)

So what about you? They don't have to a Thanksgiving thing; they can be anything you're thankful for. (Let's try and keep this serious... let's not be thankful for iPods if your life wouldn't be severely impacted without them You get my drift.)

How did you know I was going to say my ipod? (I don't have one. )

I'm thankful for my family and my friends. I'm thankful for having the opportunity to get a good education and better myself. I'm thankful for getting this far in my academic career. (I'm a junior in high school now) I'm also thankful for all of the people that have helped my family get through this hard time. (My mom is in Nursing school and can't work right now so we have no income at all) I'm also thankful to God for letting me live as long as I have and for watching over my family.

There are many more but you'll have to give me time to think on them.

What I'm thankful for.... hmm... That's a tuffy!

      I'm thankful for:
My family (of course), with out them I would be alone. My friends, they're true life savers, especially my friend M. Making the varsity team because had I not made the team I would be rotting on the couch. And most importantly that my family and I are healthy.
Time passes. Even when it seems impossible.
Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise.
It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me.

I'm thankful for my family, who have repeatedly told me they are willing to mortgage their souls to let me have my dream.

I'm thankful for NaNoWriMo, for (surprisingly enough) keeping me vaguely sane over the past month because I've had something taking up my time.

And I'm thankful that the world has not gotten smaller with the internet. Just larger. Each of us gets to talk to YW fans from all over the world, which before would be fairly improbable if not impossible. Maybe the world as a whole hasn't changed. But our worlds have all gotten larger, I think. And I'm thankful for that. ^^

I'm thankful for all of the people I've talked to in the past three weeks, friends and YW forum members alike, because I am in an area where I have no friends anywhere nearby (visiting grandparents in different state), and having any decent conversation at all (I don't count the conversations with my parents, sister, and grandparents) really helps me to stay sane (at least partially ).
