How Come?

How come many of the sections haven't been updated? like the F.A.Q. section and the YW News & Events section. you know many people would like frequent updates. i was just wondering. please comment.

Well, the FAQ probably hasn't been updated, simply because there aren't infinite questions Lee or the mods are willing to answer. All the basics are there, and you can find pretty much everything you need there to get a good start. I don't think there's much of any point in simply updating for the sake of having it be updated. You need to have content in order for it to be updated. When there is new or useful content, then yes, there will be an update. For now, it appears there is no new content, so there won't be any updates.

If you do have a question, it isn't in the FAQ, and you think it should be, you can private message Peter Murray or kli6. They should be able to either answer your question themselves, or, if they decide it is a very good question, they might also post it in one of the FAQ topics.

Dee's got it right on the FAQs that I author (Board & Books). I generally only update them if there's a screaming need for another blanket "rule" or a lot of people are asking the same question about the books. But by their nature, the longer they're around, the less they need updating. If there's something you want to see added, there are discussion threads for both those FAQs, where you can put forward information you'd like to see added.

Oh, whoops. They were both locked from being not-used. I've opened them up again. The basic rule around here for threads seems to be use 'em or lose 'em.

For News and Events, you'll want to check out the News and Events blog, and the gateway page of these forums. The forum section was set up before the blog was created. Now the blog tends to be the place where most of the information goes. Well, that and DD's personal blog. And again, basically, they just don't get updated unless there's news or an event. And sometimes not even then.

DD had a life aside from feeding her online fandom tidbits and information. She has to write for a living, after all. She often thinks she'll have time to do a project, and then her time will get eaten up by work, unplanned projects, or just plain life. Remember that any time she can give us is an Extra. The paying work's gotta come first. Otherwise, we wouldn't have a board at all.
