  • Help! [advice needed to convince parents to get a puppy]

I really need help. Ok, so I really want a puppie, I have the breed the name and everything and all the information about it, but, I am afraid what my parents will say. My dog died a month or two ago, and its lonely without a dog in the house. My parents say they don't want a dog because they want to travel and stuff. Any ways I can convince them to get a puppie? Please help!

Yeah. You can get puppies and doggies used to being in cages/pet carriers and to cars to the point where their favroite spot is in a doggie tent. Then you can bring your doggie anywhere.

If you get a small dog you can take it in a plane under the seat in front of you in a little bag-sorta-thing. We used to do that with my dog a lot but now we have 2 so it's a little more awkward.

The problem with traveling with a dog from Hawaii is the (present) quarantine rules for pets. The local government is scared stiff of rabies, so at the very least, you need to leave your dog or cat in quarantine for a week while they verify it doesn't have rabies. Every time your pet leaves and comes back to Hawaii, it has to go through quarantine again. That's traumatic to the pet and expensive for the owner. This may change, but not yet. If you travel frequently, that means a lot of kennel time for your pet, either if you leave him here in HI, or take him with you.

Zinnia Zeroth- i'm not trying to be rude or anything, but we aren't supposed to have animated avies, its against the rules. I learned that because I had a really cute Snapple one but it was animated, so I had to take it off...

Britain also has quarantine rules, so dogs coming to Britain have to spend six months or so while it waits to develop rabies. So that costs money, paying to keep it there, and the dog doesn't have much fun. (Not just dogs - all mammals, basically.)

At least, it was six months when my cousin and her cat came back from Canada. I assume it still is.

When my siblings and I wanted another dog and my parent's said no we drew up a 'contract' (well, I did) and we put down all the responsibilites and how we were going to take care of the dog. If your parent's are worried about travaling look up good places to leave your puppy and tell your parents, that way when you travel, you will have a good place to leave your puppy.

guys, one-liners!!! Not Cool At All!!!

AUGH, and now I have nothing to write here. Okay, I'll ask: what kind of puppy were you thinking of getting? a friend of my sister's was taking care of four tiny tiny gorgeous puppies a while ago- mongrels basically, she worked for the SPCA. They were utterly beautiful, little and black, and they had the best names- Yoda, Ninja, Leila and
Lilou. leila really looked like a leila, too- she was the runt.
Go ahead! Panic! Do it now and avoid the June rush! Fear death by water!
