Joey: Dai! I'm Amber. As Tui's given up on the newbie packs, I think, here's a quick list of survival tips:
Don't call the person with the username reading 'marniebrown1' anything but M, Agent M, or M-sama. This is essential.
Don't annoy Aurora. Though she's much mellower than she used to be, according to the oldbies. Simple ways to avoid annoying Aurora--be nice to everyone, follow basic rules of netiquette, and don't diss anime.
We will never, ever stay on-topic. It doesn't happen.
And, last but not least...Rysade eats newbies for breakfast. He is, however, the only one who consistently does so.
The important thing about adventures, thought Mr Bunnsy, was that they shouldn't be so long as to make you miss mealtimes.

OK, so ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking, yeah?

Oh yeah...that too. Sanity's a rare disease around here.
Of course you're very nice, M! *glomps, just because ppc is in a glomping mood*

The greatest pain a wizard can have is losing their partner.

Wow! Moonsong isn't a newbie anymore! HA! cool! I think I know what it is that separates n00bs from not-n00bs. It's excessive amounts of roleplay! That and keying into the themes and inside jokes. Well, sorta. Caledonian, for example, is the oldest one here, even compared to me, and that' OLD old. He doesn't roleplay, he doesn't do inside jokes, he doesn't even do RANDOMNESS, and he's still cool.

Well, the official switch from being having "New Member" under your avatar to having "Member" comes when you've posted 10 times. Unofficially...I think it's a combination of posts and time. You've been a member long enough and you've posted enough that everyone knows you'll continue posting. At least, that's the feeling I got when I first joined. What does everyone else think?
Hey I've being here a total of ten days and I've now made 56 posts so does that classifiey me as a midbie?

Mm...I don't think the transition is quite that quantifiable. I think it's more when you start really connecting with people that you become a midbie. Of course, the post count/average length of each post and how long you've been around factor in too, but I think it depends primarily on your social identification to the rest of the members. Thus if you post a lot of one-liners that don't really concern anyone but you and you've been a member for ages, you're not really a midbie, just a newbie 'without the glossy on,' to quote Tui.
Did that make sense to anyone but me?
Oh, and Devin Caster: No, ten days and fifty-six posts isn't really all that much...I'd give it a few more weeks.

Yeah, that makes sense. It depends on whether people actually know something about you, maybe? If they know a trait or charicteristic? How you're likely to behave about something? what kind of activities you do? I think those all factor in somewhat.
HEY!!
Sorry people I haven't been on much lately so I'm a little slower at posting.
PPC: I get where you're coming from, you really stop feeling like a nOOb when you get to know everyone better. Or at least that was how I felt.
You all are posting too much for me too keep up with these days and Devin and Moonsong prove it!
