    • Ants are fine, but they need to stay out of my kitchen. Ditto for spiders, and roaches. Our household geckos are laying (lying?) down on the job, or simply terrified of the cats. Meanwhile, the cats grandly ignore all the creepy-crawlies with more than 4 legs.

      • You have no idea how bad red fire ants are. I don't know what they're actually called, but taht's what everyone else called them. Fire ants... *Shudders*

Okay, when I lived in Florida, there would be ant hills everywhere! Each about 4-6 inches high and swarming with ants. Their bites hurt and left poison afterwards. The poison isn't strong enough to hurt humans, but it would leave a bump similar to a mosquitoes and it would ITCH!!! Luckily we had a big alloe plant to help.

Cats and rats. People say that cats are great mouse hunters but I have to laugh at that. House cats certainly don't hunt mice. Heh. We had to take care of a neighbor's mouse while they were gone. At the time we only had Canyon, but she was HORRIFIED of the mouse. The cats just like to stare out the window and get overly excited whenever they spot a bird. Canyon makes funny noises and Cinnamon licks the glass. Cassie gets wide eyed and freaks if you pet her. Sparkle is the only cat that hunts, but it's never mice. Birds, moles, and rarely a bunny. Poor birds and bunnies. Even the moles look cute. But she doesn't eat them. For the moles, she roles on her back and bats at them and kicks them.

              • I do long jump in track at school, and there's a lot of sand everywhere. So I sat down on a pile to wait for my turn, and the next thing I know there are all these ants crawling all over me. *shudder* I sat on an ant hill. Yuck. I don't really mind bugs, as long as they stay outside. They're fun to watch. (So long as they're not biting you :P) I have to say they have more personality then some people I know, which is kinda sad.

                    • Hi all, I'm not really new but hey anyway. I love this place and just never know when I'm able to get on so my old name was deleted during renovations(That happened a long time ago now)and I never got a new one due to school etc. Hopefully, and maybe I'll be able to keep up this time round.

If you look at the threads listing, if there's a little graphic of a locked safe, then that thread is archived, and no longer resides in the active board database. Those articles can't be replied to or edited. You can only search and read them. It makes maintaining the board easier.

Lee's posted an article about message pruning and archiving policies on this board.
New to the board? Please take the time to read the YW Board-Specific Rules, or Why We're Not Like Other Boards FAQ.
