*is Flattered* I'm glad, then...I do try not to spam, but it's getting progressively harder. Like this post, for instance. Practically nothing said. But I'm posting anyway becuase the Demon of the Forum told me to.

Ha! The Demon of the Forum! I can just see it- it's little and blue and sits on our shoulders, making up phrases that we simply have to post and urging us into one-liners... I can hear it, too:
"Go on, it's only one one-liner... you can give them up and go back to solid posts anytime!"

*snicker* Cute description. And very accurate. But why blue?
        Must...not...post...one-liner...
<randomness to keep post from being total spam>
What _was_ it like in the Good Ol' Days, anyway? I've heard muttered reports of 'less spammy' and elsewhat, but...did you all _really_ discuss weighty YW-themed philosophy and stay on-topic?

Because the forum's blue. It wants to blend in.

As for the Gold Old Days.... well.... it's not that we didn't post off-topic stuff. it's just that, in general, what was posted was slightly more thought-out- I, personally, was not very good at it, but some people used to spend a lot of time thinking about what they were saying. People still do, and make really thoughtful and insightful and, well, long posts, but because there are so many more regular posters now, there's a much higher frequency of posts that are rattled off in five seconds or so. I mean... I don't know. Also, there were way fewer posts- often you come back in two days and nothing would have changed, particularly during the week.

Eh, I don't know. Also, spelling and punctuation was way better...

Hmm. it's not about length, or about timeframe, really, because there were heaps of short posts but... well, we were less in-jokey. Maybe it's relevance?
Or maybe this is just us idealising something, yeah?

My theory about the Good 'Ol days (and I've noticed this happens with other litary forums) is as follows: When the forums are first created, there are several books in the series. (Think how many YW books were around when these forums were created). Any theories/thoughts you might have will be new and orginal to the forums. However, as time wears on, their becomes fewer new things to be discussed. New books only partially alleviate this situaion, as it will be a comparitivly small amount of material.
The best way round all this would be for DD to publish batches four or five YW books at once... but this has obvious disadvantages.

Oh, and if you really want to increase YW-related topics, then restrict when Chatter can be posted in...

Demon of the Forum hmmmmm. That sounds like Greek Mythology or something to me. Hmmmmm. I should give someone a name from mythology on this site. Who should it be. I dub FireWitch to be Aphrodite:the Goddess of Love.(What is she 1 out of 5 ppl who have a boyfriend here?) Anyways I really liked that Winter Formal story it was really cool.
