It's so funny to think back now to when High wizardry was first written and now ipods have more storage capacity than was listed in the apple computer originally had. I am just picturing the next book including a description of the manual on an ipod or iphone "There's an app for that".

Aye, nothing quite like references to computers to date a book. It's a particular pitfall for books aimed at older kids and teens. Before home computers there was quite a long period whe technology seemed to be developing at a manageable pace. Telephones, record players, radios, televisions, tape recorders, and so on. You could date a "present-day book" to a decade or so by the technology. Then computers came along, and now you could date a book to within a year or three.-- Rick.
