That song's Running Alone by either Journey or Steve Perry, I don't know if he'd gone solo by that stage. It's a great piece of 80s cheese, I love it!
Sticking with the orchestral music that BHB started in the other version of this thread, I'd add in the first movement of Mahler's first symphony for the opening. The mysterious opening would make a good tune for putting credits over, and the calm but happy tune would fit well with Dairine being annoying (in an amusing way), Nita and Kit making plans for a Summer's day, that sort of thing.

Let's be obvious- Holst's Planet Suite? (That is Holst, right?)
And then, probably just because it's one of my favourite songs, Drops of Jupiter by Train. (And the bridge-type bit in the middle is lovely for Nita and Kit, don't you think?)
More later... oh, wait, one more, for Dairine throughout this book: Renegade Fighter by that great Kiwi band, Zed.

Quote "It hasn't got enough bass and drums." Well fine. But from your attitude I had rather thought that your listening to it was next-to-nonexistent, and that you didn't really tolerate it! But good, anyway...

*grins* Yes, I suppose Renegade Fighter might bequite hard to find- but that hard... that's a bit odd. Compared to some bands, I believe Zed's international exposure isn't too bad. Ah well... good luck anyway.

PS: You could try looking for the lyrics; I knwo those are around. They sort of give it a bit of mood...
