    Chat is open for a brief time

    It's 21:30 EDT on October 4th: I'll keep it open as long as I can stay to watch.

    EDIT: and closed at 23:00. Sorry to the folks who got caught in the moderation while I was afk...

    Hold on... so now when you or Kathy open Chat each message has to be read and approved by you before it gets sent to everyone? Now I see why it's a hassle for you to open it! I thought you just opened it, and stayed in it, and looked at the transcripts if you had to stray away from it for some reason.

      Typically, that's how it works: that last session was an exception.

      Lee flipped the moderation bit on, but Kathy and I decided that it wasn't worth doing routinely unless things got out of hand.

              I only spotted your message quite late in the evening (my time) and then it was time for you to head home. I guess I'd gone to bed by the time you re-opened it. IRC was quiet too. Another time...
