Since I, as a mod, have access to the transcripts, I'll be saving them off as text files, so they're safe, but right now we've got an open-ended question about the fate of Peter Murray's website. Since Peter's sister has other issues to concern her at this time, this obviously isn't something to bother her with right now.
I've got a question in to Lee right now about where the files can live on the site, but since Lee's been extraordinarily busy of late, you may just have to wait a bit longer for a definitive answer and access to the transcripts.
Yeah, I know. I understood the first three times you asked.
I don't know if it's against board policy. I don't know what sort of agreement Peter had with DD about permissions to post, so, for safety's sake, until I get word it's ok, I'm holding back.
I take the long view, not the one for instant gratification. Once something's out there, it's out there. It gets linked to, indexed, botted, crawled, etc. If we end up with an official transcripts area on the YW website, I'd rather everything pointed someone to the right space where they could expect to see both chats from the past and the future.
In addition to this, in my head and heart, this is something that was PM's. He's been gone less than two weeks. Forgive me if I feel some reluctance about having to face and deal with this. I'm begging you, just give me some time and space, ok?
Yeah, Wilf, myself and Rick as well. It's one of the first instincts. Like Mike Ford's Occasional Works on Making Light.
Sean, no worries--I know that I was evading answering the question directly, and a hint is never as good as just saying stuff straight out, especially in online media, but I'm tired and cranky and depressed for a lot of different reasons aside from PM, and haven't been the most reasonable of late. Sorry in my turn for snapping at a reasonable request for clarification.

Addendum: Ok, I've come up with a way to post the transcripts that doesn't involve breaking it up into multiple posts. And Lee's okayed it. See the new Chat Transcripts forum.
That forum, like the ToGR, is there to house a single thread only, so all discussion should be here instead. I've retitled this thread to reflect that.
For the record, I downloaded a lot of PM's site onto my computer the other day... strictly for personal use, you understand. ;-)
Great minds think alike. Did the same. Although (since I've read the transcripts a few times) mostly for the timeline & miscellany - it would really be a shame to see it go.
Thanks for the link to this week's transcript! (Aside: Hope things start to go better, Kathy. :-/)
Go ahead! Panic! Do it now and avoid the June rush! Fear death by water!
I think (based on conversations with Helen last Friday) Peter's existing site will remain in place, un-altered, for a while. However, I know Peter was in the middle of a website re-organisation when he was taken ill, so there may well be updates waiting on his home machine...
It will take time to sort out, folks. I'll try to help where I can.
Thanks for the word, Rick, and no worries. Glad to hear that Peter's site is going to be around for a while. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help from this end.
Tui: thanks for the kind wishes. I'm sure they helped. Also, some friends of mine noticed I was a bit down and took me to Disneyland to help cheer me up, which was good.
*didn't even know pm HAD a website i've been so busy trying to keep my own going* was it young wizards related? *is curious even though it may not survive now*
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
For those of you who don't recognize WHO'S back, I'll give you a hint, and I don't mean the typo's in my posts - YR.
Yes, if you go look at the Chat Transcripts thread, I've put a new post with links to PM's website, and his archived chat transcripts. Hopefully those links will be good now for a while. If PM's website goes down, however, don't worry. A few people have already offered to give it hosting space. It won't go away, even if it changes addresses. About half the website was YW-related, the other half was HP.
