Okay,this is a bit off topic, but how can I convince my mom that Chime is safe?

Okay, my mom tells me that I can not come onchat untill she has been convinced that this chat room is safe. I really want to comeonat other times other than when my mom is out so,does anyone have any argument to support my idea of the fact that I will not be stalked and killed? If so,please comment.

Simple: open up the chat window and let her watch the chat for a while. She's not wrong to worry, but I think that if she sees that we're just a bunch of Duaneites (yes, a new word) she won't stop you from chatting.

Another tactic is to invite her to get her own account and join the chat herself. We've had moms enter the chat before to test out what it's like and who's there. You can also refer her to Peter Murray, myself, Lee, or DD with any questions about the board and how we handle internet safety and security issues.
